    The Basilica

Stone that remembers what the world has tried to forget.

The Basilica is the great stone keep beneath which the Library breathes and above which the bells of Annwyn still ring. It is both sanctuary and tribunal. It is where vows are taken, where the Hidden Priests confer in the lower aisles, and where the Sacred Wars were once declared.

Its architecture is not a metaphor. The Basilica was built to outlive what it sheltered. When the chapels fall, when the kingdoms forget, the Basilica is the stone that remains.

It receives what it cannot welcome. It welcomes what it cannot forgive. This is the cost of standing.

The Basilica receives what it cannot welcome.
