The Book of the Handii is an ancient testament of the order pronounced hand-eye, preserved in the lower vaults of the Basilica. It speaks not of heroes without fear, but of souls who carried the light while their hands shook.
This is the theology at the heart of the Handii: not absence of terror, but persistence through it. The eye that sees darkness does not close. The hand that strikes does not steady itself. Both act because they are sworn.
