    The Calling

    Two Figures. One Sacred Bond.

"Long before kingdoms rose and fell, before the roads of Annwyn were carved across the land, the Most High called servants to stand against the darkness."

At the heart of the Chronicles stand two figures.

    The Priest.

    And the Handii.

Bound together by a sacred law older than memory.

One speaks the Holy Word. One walks the shadows.

One carries divine authority. One bears silent vigilance.

    Neither stands alone.

    The First Calling

    The Priest

The Priests of Annwyn are guardians of sacred truth.

Called by the Most High, they alone may speak the Holy Word and wield Divinity Steel against the corruption of Sheol.

For centuries they have watched over kingdoms, guided rulers, preserved knowledge, and stood against ancient evils that seek the ruin of creation.

Yet Priests are not heroes because they are powerful.

They are heroes because they remain faithful when faith costs them everything.

    The Second Calling

    The Handii

Every Priest is joined to a Handii.

    Guardian. Witness. Shadow. Blade.

The Handii walk where danger hides. They watch when others sleep. They stand between their Priest and death itself.

Their calling is one of sacrifice, vigilance, and unwavering loyalty.

Many know the names of Priests.

Few ever see the work of the Handii.

    The Sacred Law

    The Law of the Bond

The bond between Priest and Handii is more than friendship.

    It is more than duty.

    It is life itself.

If a Handii dies, the Priest dies.

If a Priest dies, the Handii dies.

Through this sacred bond they share burdens, fears, memories, and truths that cannot be spoken.

Together they become stronger than either could ever be alone.

    The Truth Preserved

    Why They Matter

The struggle against darkness is never fought by strength alone.

    The Priest represents faith.

    The Handii represents sacrifice.

Together they embody one of the oldest truths preserved within the Basilica:

No one was meant to carry the burden alone.

    "Some were called to speak.
    Some were called to watch.
Together they stand where darkness believes itself strongest."
