The Sword and the Psalm
Two weapons. One vow. Neither permitted to outlive the other.

The Sword and the Psalm is the central doctrine governing the Basilica's use of force. It holds that no blade may be lifted in the Most High's name without the Psalm spoken alongside it, and no Psalm may be spoken in the chapel without the readiness to bleed for it in the field.
The doctrine is not a metaphor. The priests of the Basilica train at the altar and on the practice floor with the same gravity. To separate the two — to wield the blade without the Psalm, or to chant the Psalm without consequence — is judged a graver fault than failure.
