The Dwarves of Beralt are the stone-people of the deep mountains, whose covenant with the Basilica predates the present age of the Sacred Wars. They keep an unbroken treaty older than any crown that currently sits on a throne.
Their speech is slow. Their memory is long. A dwarf of Beralt is taught the names of the dead before the names of the living. When the Basilica calls upon Beralt, Beralt answers — not loudly, but completely.
