The Chair is Volar's stone seat, hewn into the heart of her own keep. It is not throne-work in any king's tradition; it is older, plainer, and gravely certain of itself. The stone was cut in the same age as the keep's foundation, and the two were never meant to be parted.
It is not a seat that welcomes occupants. It receives Volar. It tolerates no one else. The Basilica does not catalogue the Chair among its own relics — it has never needed to. The Chair belongs to the keep, and the keep belongs to her.
