The Sacred Wars
The Great Fall
The first vow broken. The first wound that did not close.
✠
The Great Fall is the founding wound of the Chronicles. It is the event by which the first age of the Archangels ended and the long defeat began. The chroniclers of the Basilica record it not as a battle but as a refusal — a vow withdrawn from the inside of the soul that had spoken it.
What fell in the Great Fall was not only an Archangel. The fall took with it a covenant, a kingdom, and the certainty that the anointed could not turn.
Every kingdom in Milieu still stands on the rubble of that refusal.
“What fell was not only an Archangel. A covenant fell with him.”
