    The Goat's Breath Pub

Low rafters, dark ale, and stories told without flinching.

The Goat's Breath is the wayside pub kept at the crossroads beneath the southern pilgrim road. Its sign is an old iron silhouette of a horned head exhaling steam into a winter night.

It is not a sacred place. It is something quieter — a place where the kingdoms thaw enough to speak. Priests pass through. Handii pass through. Soldiers of the Sacred Wars pass through and pay in silver too old to spend elsewhere.

The keeper does not ask names. He listens, and what he hears, the Basilica eventually hears too.

He does not ask names. He listens.
