The Deep-Sea Leviathan
The Sleeper Beneath the Waves.
Among the oldest legends preserved within the coastal records of Tulon are accounts of enormous creatures dwelling beneath the deepest waters.
Rarely seen and seldom understood, these beings inhabit regions of the sea where sunlight has never reached and where even experienced sailors refuse to travel willingly.
Witnesses describe immense forms moving beneath ships, vast eyes watching from the darkness below, and bodies so large that entire vessels seem insignificant beside them.
Unlike the creatures of Sheol, the Leviathans do not appear driven by corruption or malice.
They are ancient. Older than kingdoms. Older than many of the oldest surviving records.
The Priests of Tulon teach that some things were created not for the affairs of men, but as reminders that creation itself remains larger than human understanding.
Most sailors pray when they see one.
The wise sailors pray before they do.
